Yamaha YZF-R3 recalled in India

Written by Parichay Malvankar

The Yamaha YZF-R3 is not really a fast selling and popular motorcycle in the Indian market. Although very potent, the high price of this motorcycle keeps it out of reach for most two-wheeler enthusiasts. The R3 has now been recalled in the Indian market sighting a problem with the radiator assembly.

The radiator hose and spring torsion of the Yamaha YZF-R3 is suspected to be problematic. A total of 1.874 units of the Yamaha YZF-R3 sold & manufactured between July 2015 – May 2018 have been affected by this recall. Yamaha will contact each customer and inform them about this, and the parts will be replaced free of cost.

Because of these faulty parts, the coolant might leak from the radiator.

This is a voluntary recall, and no issues have been reported by customers yet here in India. Owners can also contact their nearest service station and check if their R3 needs to be checked for this issue.
