Yamaha launched the two stroke RX commuter motorcycles nearly two decades ago and they now remain as iconic models built in India. The sound (noise), acceleration & overall feel of riding the RX models is such that even a decade after discontinuation, there is a lot of demand for this bikes in the used market.
The RX135 was sold in India between 1997 – 2005.
A dealer present in Bengaluru has recently auctioned a total of 7 units of RX135 motorcycle with enthusiasts spending hefty amounts from Rs. 1.5 – 1.65 lakh for a single unit.
Some of the motorcycles which are kept very well, witness price offers of around Rs. 2 lakh and plus, and the average market value for the used one ranges from Rs. 55,000 – Rs. 90,000.
Quite a price to revisit memory lane.
Other such iconic models which one can still buy in India include the Yamaha RX100, Suzuki Shogun, Yezdi Roadking, Yamaha RD350, etc. Although these bikes could be available in the market for scrap prices, those who are ill maintained, it is a tough job to find parts and bring them back to life in showroom condition. Not to forget, you need a lot of patience & money to do this.
