New LCD Console For India Yamaha R15S
For the R15S variant, Yamaha has now added the newer, more data-intensive instrument cluster. We saw this same unit with the V4 variant. Besides the basic data, this console gives us a host of additional information. This includes average fuel economy and average speed. Furthermore, this console is also Bluetooth-enabled, thus adding to the convenience. It connects seamlessly with the ride’s smartphone via the Y-Connect application. After a successful connection, it shows phone notifications on the instrument cluster, making it very convenient.
Engine and Hardware Updates Of India Yamaha R15S
The engine of the R15S remains the same which is a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit. This engine gets variable valve actuation (VVA) that makes 18.1 BHP and 14.2Nm of peak torque. The transmission setup consists of a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch.
On the hardware front, the R15S uses conventional telescopic forks. And for the rear, we get a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking power comes from a single disc setup at both ends. Dual-channel ABS too is now standard fitment for the Yamaha R15S.

The R15S is considerably an affordable product in Yamaha India’s R15 range. It retails with a starting price tag of INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
