Yamaha R15 V3 with Daytona exhaust & frame sliders at Auto Expo 2018

Yesterday, Yamaha launched the YZF-R15 V3.0 entry level sportsbike for our Indian market. Priced at INR 1.25 lakh, this is the best money can buy to get you acquainted to the world of sports motorcycling. The perfect tool for a track day, the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is sharper, more good looking, more powerful and more feature packed than ever.

On Day 2 of the Indian Auto Expo 2018, Yamaha put up a modified version of the R15 V3 on display. This bike was seen in the Thunder Grey colour which is a mix of matte grey & red as the paint option. What you could see on this modified motorcycle was the use of an aftermarket, short end can, Daytona exhaust similar to the Daytona kit which was available for the older Yamaha R15. Also, there were very edge looking frame sliders mounted which looked very well integrated with the overall design of the motorcycle. Also available was a grey tank pad.

We don’t know if these would be sold as official accessories right away.

Powering the Yamaha YZR-R15 V3.0 is a new 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled with VVA, fuel-injected petrol motor producing 19.3 PS of power @ 10000 RPM and 15 Nm of torque @ 8500 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

We really wish that ABS was available on the new R15 V3. For this, we will have to wait till 2019 when the government enforces such safety equipment on two-wheelers.
