In a significant move, Yamaha has unveiled two new models at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 – the Yamaha Nmax 155 and the Yamaha Grand Filano. This comes as a response to the rising demand for scooters in India.
Yamaha Nmax 155
The Yamaha Nmax 155 is a conventional maxi-scooter powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine seen in the on-sale Aerox. It produces 15 PS power and 14.4 Nm of torque. The Nmax 155 comes loaded with features aimed at enhancing comfort, convenience, and safety for riders. Highlights include full LED lighting, a smart key system, a modern digital instrument cluster, and ample under-seat storage.
Yamaha Grand Filano
The Grand Filano, on the other hand, is powered by a 125cc engine with mild-hybrid tech and has a neo-retro design like the Fascino. Despite its retro aesthetics, the Grand Filano features modern technology such as LED lighting, digital instrumentation, and smartphone connectivity. The Grand Filano’s refined 125cc engine delivers smooth and responsive performance, with ample power for city commuting and highway cruising, while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency.
A Promising Future
Currently, Yamaha has three scooters on sale in India – the Fascino, the RayZR, and the Aerox 155. With the debut of the Nmax 155 and the Grand Filano, Yamaha has set its sights on the Indian market, potentially planning to launch more scooters in the country. The NMax 155 for one can take on the Suzuki Burgman Street which has popularized the maxi-scooter segment. The Filano also offers a new design and people looking for a scooter that stands out from the crowd of the typical scooters would appreciate how the Filano looks.
The upgraded features on Yamaha Grand Filano and Nmax 155 could potentially make it on Indian Fascino and Aerox 155 respectively. This indicates Yamaha’s commitment to providing Indian customers with world-class products that meet their evolving needs and preferences.
