India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has announced an accessory campaign for the newly launched motorcycle, the MT-15 in India. The brand is promoting the MT riding culture in India with the MT-15 and wishes to match the global ambition of the MT motorcyclists’ style and character.
Yamaha through their campaign will contact all existing buyers of the Yamaha MT-15 so that they can choose and select the complimentary MT branded riding jacket or helmet. The same offer will be extended to all future buyers at no additional expense. Do note, the MT-15 campaign will only be active for a limited time period. Yamaha has offered this to create what they call as ‘kando’ which means intense excitement and deep satisfaction. Yamaha believes it will help the brand connect with its customer as this complimentary ride accessory will be available at all Yamaha dealerships.
Yamaha launched the MT-15 a couple of months ago at a price of INR 1.36 lakh ex-showroom. The bike is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) and makes 19.3 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Though the engine is borrowed from the YZF-R15 version 3.0, the engine control unit (ECU) on the MT-15 motorcycle is specifically tuned. The engine is wrapped around a Deltabox frame and rides on telescopic front fork and a link-type rear monoshock. Braking duties are performed by a single 282mm hydraulic disc brake on the front and 220mm rear disc brake equipped with a single-channel ABS.
The Yamaha MT-15 features projector LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, digital speedo console, underbelly cowling, tubeless tyres and is available in two colours in India – Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black. The Yamaha MT-15 rivals the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200, Apache RTR 200 4V and also the KTM 125 Duke according to the price point.
