Yamaha Motor India is set to launch the highly anticipated YZF-R3 and MT-03 motorcycles in the Indian market within the next few months, just in time for the festive season. It is expected that an official announcement regarding the launch will be made in late July or early August 2023. Now, as per sources, some dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Yamaha R3 and MT-03. The dealers are charging INR 5,000-20,00. We believe that these motorcycles will arrive sometime in the next two months. Once launched, Yamaha will expect more customers to flock to their showrooms, thus boosting sales.
Yamaha Increasing Its Range Of Products
These sub-500cc motorcycles, along with the YZF-R7, MT-07, and MT-09, were there on display for Yamaha’s dealer partners in India. As mentioned unofficial bookings for the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 have already begun in several dealerships across the country. The booking amounts are ranging from INR 5,000 to INR 20,000.
The YZF-R3 is a fully-faired motorcycle that will compete against the KTM RC390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the Indian market. On the other hand, the MT-03 will be a direct rival to the KTM 390 Duke. Both motorcycles come equipped with a 321cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, producing 40.4 BHP and 29.4Nm of peak torque.
More New Yamaha Products In The Lineup
In addition, Yamaha Motor India is reportedly planning to introduce new middleweight motorcycles in the Indian market after 2023. According to Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, there is a possibility of limited numbers of the YZF-R7 and MT-07 being introduced as well. We eagerly anticipate Yamaha’s decision to bring these motorcycles to the market, considering their current focus on sub-250cc two-wheelers. The absence of larger-capacity motorcycles not only impacts the brand’s image but also restricts current Yamaha owners from upgrading within the Yamaha family.
