When India’s largest car manufacturer enters a segment, they ace it every time. And without fail. With the Vitara Brezza SUV, S-Cross crossover & the Ertiga MPV; Maruti Suzuki claims to have a market share of over 27.5% in the utility vehicle segment in the domestic market in 2017-18.
Maruti Suzuki has managed to retail 2,53,759 units of the Vitara Brezza, S-Cross & Ertiga combined in 2017-18, which is a growth of 29.6% compared to the 1,95,741 unit sales from the previous year. While the Vitara Brezza & Ertiga have been popular from day 1, the S-Cross after its facelift has gained momentum in the sales department.
Maruti Suzuki reveals that sales of the Vitara Brezza improved by 36.7% in 2017-18 and 4.1% increase for the Ertiga. But the star was the S-Cross with a sales jump of 44%.
Maruti Suzuki currently retails the Vitara Brezza & Ertiga from their Maruti Suzuki Arena sales network while the S-Cross is sold via Nexa showrooms. In 2018, the Ertiga is due for a mid-life makeover, so don’t be surprised if the Ertiga sales suddenly shoot up.
