Serial 1, Harley-Davidson’s eBike brand, unveils its second generation of products. The company also partnered up with Google for the new products. Serial 1 aims to combine connectivity and two-wheeled experience with its new /CTY and BASH/MTN eBikes.
The company says it is thrilled about Google Cloud selecting them as an eMobility partner. Under the partnership, Serial 1 will integrate Google Cloud’s Intelligent Product Essentials software solutions into its eBikes. This will enable proactive, predictive and intelligent features providing a better eBike experience for all the riders.
Serial 1 eBikes – Variants and Pricing
The range starts with the stripped-down MOSH/CTY at USD 3,799 MSRP. At the same time, the range-topping high-performance RUSH/CTY Speed will cost USD 5,599 MSRP. The other models in the range are – RUSH/CTY Step-Thru and BASH/MTN. They cost USD 4,999 MSRP and USD 3,999 MSRP, respectively. Most of the trims come with a 529 Wh removable battery. However, the RUSH/CTY Speed comes with a larger 706 Wh battery unit. The mountain biking variants will be limited to just 1,050 units. Half of them, i.e. 525 units, will go to the US while the other half to Europe.
Serial 1 eBikes – Google Enabled Features
Thanks to its partnership with Google, the eBikes get a host of connected features. One of these is the “Pinpoint Mode”. The feature lets owners find their bikes no matter where they are. Planning routes is also easier thanks to Google Maps-powered turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, using this, you can also get a post-ride summary. The eBikes also feature an integrated USB-C charger that lets you charge your phone while riding.
Serial 1 eBikes – Highlights
The fastest of the range, RUSH/CTY Speed, is capable of reaching up to 45kmph. At the same time, the off-road-focused BASH/MTN can go up to 32kmph. These speeds are possible thanks to a motor that produces 90 Nm of torque.
The Brand Director of the company believes that less is more. Hence, the BASH/MTN features no suspension. The company further says that one does not have to fiddle around with the suspension or drivetrain. It will always be two wheels, one gear and one purpose. All this provides the most direct connection between the rider and the trail. The company believes that if you worry less about maintaining the technology, the more you can focus on enjoying the ride.
Although this doesn’t mean your body will have to absorb all the jumps. For this, the bike gets big Michelin E-Wild tyres and an SR Suntour NCX suspension seat post. Braking hardware consists of four-piston TRP hydraulic disc brakes. The BASH/MTN also features a Yucca Tan paint finish with graffiti graphics.
