Volvo S60 3rd generation revealed for India, bookings open in January 2021

Volvo has introduced the all-new Volvo S60 sedan in the Indian market which is slated for its market launch scheduled for early 2021. The new sedan car for the market was scheduled to be launched in India before the end of 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic and the supply chain disruption associated with it pushed the market launch of the car to next year. The brand has also revealed that the booking for the Volvo S60 sedan will commence from January 2021 and the deliveries on the S60 are expected to begin from March 2021. 

Now in its third-generation, the Volvo S60 will be the second sedan car in India portfolio and features a plethora of comfort and convenience features such as a four-zone climate control system with CleanZone technology that reduces pollen, dust and other irritants from the cabin offering a cleaner in-cabin air experience. The car also features a Harman Kardon music system, wireless smartphone charger, panoramic sunroof, park assist camera for the rear, LED headlamps with active light bending feature and Comfort, Eco and Dynamic drive modes. 

The Volvo S60 features the signature Volvo grille with Volvo badging in the centre, chrome accents on the grille, sleek LED headlamps with double tick mark LED daytime running lights, a wide air dam, rounded wheel arches, 18-inch 10-multi-spoke black diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Volvo S60 like all Volvo cars features an enhanced safety net that features high-strength steel, dual-stage driver and passenger airbags, multiple secondary airbag systems, energy-absorbing seat and interior structures, pilot assist, adaptive cruise control, oncoming mitigation by braking, steering support for city safety, lane-keeping assist, speed alert control, driver alert control, brake with hill start assist etc. 

The Volvo S60 sedan in India will be powered by a single petrol engine and will be available in the T4 Inscription variant with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged petrol motor that 190 HP of power and 300 Nm of torque coupled with a front-wheel-drive. The Volvo S60 is built on the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform and measures 4761mm in length, 2040mm in width, 1431mm in height and a 2872mm of the wheelbase which also claims to be the longest in its class.
