Volvo has today introduced yet another plug-in hybrid variant of the XC90 SUV. Called the XC90 T8 Inscription, this variant has been priced at INR 96.65 lakh ex-showroom, and accompanies the more expensive XC90 T8 Excellence. This new XC90 T8 Inscription variant though is a 7-seater version, unlike the T8 Excellence which is a 4-seater.

Powering the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription, which is also known as a ‘Twin Engine’ variant is a 2.0L, turbocharged & supercharged 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 320 HP of power coupled to an 87 HP electric motor. The car produces a combined output of 407 HP and 400 Nm powering all four wheels and sports an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The gasoline engine works on the front wheels while the rear wheels are moved by the electric motor.

One can drive the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription in pure electric mode for 40 km.

All other features are identical to the Volvo XC90 Inscription diesel variant. However, the diesel variants are locally built here in India while the T8 version is imported as a CBU.
