Volkswagen Virtus gets performance update for AC system

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Do you own a Volkswagen Virtus? This piece of news might interest you. The German carmaker has rolled out a “technical update” for the Virtus’ air-conditioning system. One of the prevalent issues with most Virtus owners was the poor performance of the air-conditioning system. Now, it seems like Volkswagen has acknowledged the issue and came forward with an update. Thus the VW officials have finally directed the technical team to rectify the issue.

How To Get Your Virtus Updated?

Virtus owners have already been notified regarding the update through an SMS. As per the message, VW Vietus owners will have to visit their nearest VW dealer for the update. With this, Volkswagen aims to improve AC performance. As expected, Volkswagen India is offering the update free of cost. Another key piece of information is that this job could take around 30 minutes to an hour.

Volkswagen Virtus Key Highlights

The Volkswagen Virtus arrived in the Indian market in June last year. The sedan uses the localised MQB-A0-IN platform and is available with two engine options. First is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 113 BHP and 175 Nm. Second is the exciting and powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine that makes 148 BHP and 250 Nm. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG for the Virtus. The sales figure suggest that the Virtus is selling in good numbers.

What’s The Future Of Sedan Segment?

With the sedan segment going almost extinct, Virtus along with a few other sedans are trying hard to revive the segment. Given VW’s reputation for making performance-oriented cars, Virtus has received enough recognition from car enthusiasts. In fact, most of the customers are opting for the top-of-the-line Virtus GT trim, which retails at almost INR 20 lakhs. With the new identity and vision, VW India is making a strong comeback. With the new launches of Virtus and Taigun, Volkswagen is back in the business and is attracting significant sales volume.
