Volkswagen Vento race car development begins

Volkswagen has been very active in motorsports, and even in India, this division is getting quite some attention. Now, the Volkswagen Motorsport division in India has started developing a new TC4-A regulation race car for their customer sport programme. This TC4-A sports car is going to be a souped up Vento built for racing.

The new TC4-A Vento race car will be built to comply with the new rules as per FMSCI and will be a more modern car to be used in motorsport events. Two test cars will be deployed in this years National Championship as well to gain more understanding of the car and also gather feedback from racing drivers.

TC4-A regulations are derived on the Indian Touring Car regulations and are meant for cars with a turbocharged motor, but under 2,000cc in capacity and weight restriction of minimum 1,150 kg along with a turbo inlet restrictor of 30,,.

Powering the TC4-A Volkswagen Vento race car will be a 1.8L, TSI motor with a 3MO sequential gearbox with manual shifting. Power output wasn’t revealed for now.
