Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line complete details
Volkswagen has been teasing its latest flagship model, the Tiguan R-Line, for a long time. The company has now officially announced the pricing of the new mid-size SUV. It is available at Rs 48.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The Tiguan R-Line is a CBU (completely built unit) model, which features the sporty design language of the brand. It gets the latest design language of VW cars, which offers the connected LED lights on both ends, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and sporty bumpers.
The cabin design offers the best of luxury and advanced features on the Tiguan R-Line. It gets a sporty leather upholstery with red stitching on the seats and the steering wheel. Other sporty bits include the aluminium race pedals and piano black accents.
The features list includes a 12.3-inch floating infotainment screen, wireless phone connectivity and charging, electric seats with ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, 30-colour ambient lights, tri-zone climate control, level 2 ADAS, and auto park assist.
Powering the Tiguan R-Line is the 2.0-litre TSI four-cylinder engine, which produces 204 bhp and 320 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission with an FWD system.
The Tiguan R-Line can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, while the top speed is 229 km/h. The claimed fuel economy of the Tiguan R-Line is 12.58 km/l.

Our verdict
The new Tiguan R-Line is the latest addition to VW India’s lineup. It has also become the new flagship model from the brand in India. The old Tiguan model has been discontinued, while the Tiguan R-Line deliveries are set to begin soon.
