Volkswagen India has taken a significant step towards enhancing safety by announcing the standardization of six airbags across all variants of the 5-Star GNCAP safety-rated Taigun and Virtus. With this move, Volkswagen’s portfolio of cars in India becomes even safer, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to providing secure mobility solutions.

India’s Safest Cars

The Taigun and Virtus, both 5-star GNCAP rated, offer a safe mobility experience for both adult and child occupants. Over one lakh Indian families have chosen the Taigun and Virtus as their preferred vehicles since their introduction to the Indian market.

Sales Milestones

The Taigun, which contributed to over 61% of sales, recently achieved the remarkable milestone of 100,000+ India 2.0 car sales. Meanwhile, the Virtus has established itself as the premium mid-size sedan of choice among customers. Approximately 40% of buyers have opted for the highly coveted GT variants of both models, emphasizing performance as a key factor in their decision-making process.

Expanding Product Offerings

Since the introduction of the India 2.0 product portfolio, Volkswagen India has continuously improved its offerings. The brand recently expanded its variant line-up to meet customer demand for German-engineered and safe vehicles. Notably, two new variants were introduced for the Taigun: the GT Line based on the 1.0L TSI engine and the GT Plus Sport based on the 1.5L TSI EVO engine.

Accessible Service Network

Volkswagen’s commitment extends beyond product enhancements. The brand boasts a network of 208 sales and pre-owned car touchpoints, along with 142 service centers across 155 cities. Transparency and competitive Total Cost of Ownership are key features of Volkswagen’s after-sales services.
