Written by Parichay Malvankar

Volkswagen  Motorsport India has revealed that they will be developing and building cars for customers here in India who want to pursue rallying as their motorsport interest. All those who want to compete in FMSCI Indian National Rally Championships, under the Volkswagen Customer Sport programme can buy rally-spec cars for all three categories – INRC, INRC2 & INRC3.

Volkswagen already have 3 participants driving for these rallies in 2018, which will showcase how good these cars are. No further details have been shared about the cars. From what we can see, the car runs on stock bumpers and headlamp tail lamps. But the alloy wheels have been changed along with new tyres. Also, you now have a roof scoop. You can also notice the roll cage inside to ensure driver safety in case of a rollover situation.

Volkswagen will build factory prepared Polo rally cars as per individual requirements. Also, the Volkswagen Motorsport team will provide on-ground tech support to drivers and their teams during rally stages.

Volkswagen Motorsport India has been operational since 2010 when they debuted the Polo Cup in our country.
