Volkswagen has launched the special cup edition model across the Polo, Ameo and Vento cars. The Cup edition cars exhibit Volkswagen’s campaign #GermanyCheersForIndia to support the cricket world cup season, and the cars will be available across all Volkswagen dealerships in India.
The brand promotes all the sports around the world and understands that cricket in India is a religion which is equivalent to soccer in Germany and keeping that in mind the company has launched the Cup Edition models in India.
The changes on the special Cup edition cars will be cosmetic and they will feature body graphics, new multi-spoke alloy wheels, new leatherette seat covers, Cup Edition chrome badging and more to celebrate the cricket season in India. The special edition cars will be powered by the same engines and no changes will be seen in the mechanical department.
The Polo and the Ameo Cup Editions are powered by the same petrol powered engine which is as follows:-
- 999cc, MPI 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 76 PS of power @ 6200 RPM and 95 Nm of torque @ 3000-4300 RPM coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Vento Cup Edition is powered by a petrol powered engine with the following specifications:-
- 1598cc, MPI petrol 4-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 105 PS of power @ 5250 RPM and 153 Nm of torque @ 3800 RPM mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Effective from 1st January 2019, all Volkswagen cars will have a 4-year/1,00,000 km standard warranty, 4-year roadside assistance free of charge, 3 free services in one year or up to 15,000 km.
