Written by Nizam Shaikh

German carmaker Volkswagen has launched the TSI Edition (Limited Edition) Volkswagen Polo and Vento offered in the Highline Plus trim at the price of INR 7.89 lakh ex-showroom for the Polo TSI Limited Edition and INR 10.99 lakh ex-showroom for the Volkswagen Vento TSI Limited Edition.

The TSI Limited Edition on the Polo and Vento features a new honeycomb-style grille, new body graphics, new TSI badging across the passenger doors, black ORVMs, piano black roof, tailgate integrated spoiler on the Polo finished in black and a black finish boot lip spoiler on the Vento.

The Limited Edition cars are powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) three-cylinder in-line petrol engine that produces 110 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine delivers an ARAI fuel economy of 18.24 Kmpl on Polo and 17.69 Kmpl on Vento.

Apart from the Limited Edition add-ons both the Polo and Vento carry forward the design and styling elements from the standard cars and come with twin-barrel headlamps, bumper integrated fog lights, a wide air dam, flared rounded wheel arches, accented shoulder lines, subtle bonnet ridges, 15-inch alloy wheels and new heat-insulating glasshouse.

Both the TSI Edition Polo and Vento feature a centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features, control mounted flat bottomed steering wheel, analogue instrument cluster with a digital multi-information display in between, climate control air-conditioning, a central armrest with storage spots etc. with only difference in the cabin trim that differentiates one from another.

Interested buyers can book both the Volkswagen Polo TSI Edition and the Vento TSI Edition available through Volkswagen’s official website that integrates 137 sales and 116 service touchpoints. The brand will begin deliveries across all dealerships in India, as soon as health situations normalise in the country.

The brand a couple of months ago launched the BS6 compliant standard versions of both the Polo and Vento at the price starting INR 5.82 lakh ex-showroom and the Vento priced starting from INR 8.86 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has dropped the 1.2-litre TSI engine from the line up in favour of the new 1.0-litre TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) and 1.0-litre MPI (Multipoint fuel Injection) engine from the EA 211 engine family.
