Volkswagen India starts previews for Virtus sedan across the country

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Volkswagen India has started to preview its upcoming Virtus ahead of its launch scheduled on 9th June 2022. This is a pan India preview program that aims at creating an exclusive opportunity to experience Virtus. Under the India 2.0 Project, a lot has changed for VW India. Now, all the Volkswagen dealerships also get a more vibrant, modern, and inviting design language. As of now, the carmaker has received quite an overwhelming response for its sedan offerings. The striking exterior outlook is what attracts the maximum attention. The Jetta inspired outlook is also a big step up from the Vento, which looked like the elder sibling of the Polo.

VW Virtus – The Info We Have Till Now

Based on the improvised MQB A0 IN platform, the same as the one we see in the Kushaq, Virtus retains the core values of Volkswagen. Localization is the key, and with the MQB A0 IN platform, the carmaker claims up to 95 per cent localization levels. The strong build, safety and fun-to-drive factor all add up to make Virtus a perfect choice. Measuring 4,561 mm in length, Virtus is the longest car in the segment. This adds to the rear seat comfort by giving enough knee and legroom.

In terms of features, Virtus is pretty much up to the 2022 standards. The sedan gets an 8-inch cm digital cockpit and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, KESSY (keyless entry and engine start), an electric sunroof, smart-touch Climatronic AC, 8-speakers with immersive sound as standard, wireless mobile charging, and front ventilated leather seats are the part of the kit too. Safety has also been a strong point for VW, and it is the same for Virtus as well. The sedan benefits from 6 airbags, a reverse camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-collision brakes, and hill-hold control. Other features include seamlessly integrated LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The seats also get ISOFIX anchorages.

Engine options are in tune with other Volkswagen-Skoda lineup of products under the India 2.0 project. Hence, we will have the 1.5L TSI EVO and 1.0L TSI engine, both equipped with idle Start/Stop. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic torque converter or 7-speed DSG transmission option.
