Volkswagen India has expanded its Virtus sedan lineup with the introduction of two new variants: the Virtus GT Line and the Virtus GT Plus Sport. These new models aim to cater to the growing demand for sporty and feature-rich sedans in the Indian market.
Pricing and Availability
The Virtus GT Line is priced at INR 14.07 lakh, while the more premium Virtus GT Plus Sport starts at INR 17.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Both variants are now available at Volkswagen dealerships across India.
Engine and Performance
The Virtus GT Line is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which is available with both manual and automatic transmission options. On the other hand, the Virtus GT Plus Sport comes with a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI EVO petrol engine. This variant offers both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, providing a dynamic driving experience. The 1.5-litre engine is equipped with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), which enhances fuel efficiency by deactivating two cylinders when full power is not required.
Design and Features
Both the GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants boast a range of exterior and interior enhancements that set them apart from the standard Virtus models.

- Blackened LED headlamps with DRLs
- 16-inch black alloy wheels
- Glossy black spoiler and window bar
- GT Line badging on doors and boot lid
- Signature LED tail lamps
Interior Features:
- 20.32 cm digital cockpit
- 25.65 cm touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Electric sunroof
- Black leatherette and fabric seat upholstery with grey stitching
- Red ambient lighting and aluminum pedals
The GT Plus Sport variant further enhances the luxury quotient with features like ventilated front seats, an electric front seat for both the driver and co-driver, and a premium sound system with an amplifier and subwoofer.
Safety and Technology
Volkswagen has ensured that safety remains a top priority with the new Virtus variants. Both models come equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and hill hold control as standard.
Additionally, the Virtus GT Plus Sport includes advanced features such as auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a digital cockpit that provides a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s performance and navigation details.
