The demand for the newly launched Volkswagen Virtus looks quite promising. The sedan has already garnered 2,000 units of sales over a period of two weeks from its launch. VW India has started the ‘Big by delivery’ initiative to keep up with this overwhelming response. Under this programme, the carmaker recently also made a national record. This speaks volumes of the customers’ growing trust in the sedan segment. The Virtus aims to attract more customers, thus boosting the sales for Volkswagen India.
Availability, Price, and Colours
Volkswagen confirmed that the Virtus is now available across its 152 sales touchpoints in India. Currently, the sedan retails at its introductory pricing. The Virtus range starts at INR 11.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus is available with 2 engines and 3 gearbox options. Thus, offering a wide range of customers. Furthermore, it is also available in a host of colour options. The colour options include – Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, Curcuma Yellow, Candy White and Rising Blue.
Powertrain Specifications
The Performance Line of the sedan gets the 1.5l TSI EVO engine. It also features an Active Cylinder Technology (ACT). This engine is only available with a 7-speed DSG transmission. The 1.5-litre TSI has a peak power of 110 kW (150PS) from 5000 to 6000 rpm range and a peak torque of 250 Nm at 1600 to 3500 rpm. Meanwhile, the Dynamic Line uses a 1.0l TSI engine with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission. The 1.0-litre TSI makes 85kW (115PS) ranging from 5000 to 5500 rpm and 178 Nm of torque at 1750 to 4500 rpm.
In terms of customer convenience, VW is offering a 4EVER Care package. This adds a 4-year/ 100,000 km warranty which is extendable up to 7 years. The 4-years of roadside assistance is also extendable up to 10 years, and 3-labour free services. Furthermore, customers can also purchase their preferred loyalty products like service value packages, extended warranty and roadside assistance. All these are available from their preferred dealership or online booking platform.
