VinFast, Vietnam’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to launch its VF 6 electric SUV in India. The VF 6, which has already made waves in markets like Vietnam and Europe, is expected to bring a blend of style, technology, and sustainability to the Indian EV segment.

VinFast VF 6 design

The VF 6 is a B-segment SUV designed under the theme “The Duality in Nature,” which emphasizes a balance between bold aesthetics and everyday practicality. Developed in collaboration with Italy’s Torino Design, the VF 6 features flowing lines, a sculpted body, and a signature V-shaped LED light pattern. These elements give the SUV a modern yet approachable look, making it stand out in the crowded EV market.

Inside, the VF 6 offers a spacious cabin designed to feel like a living room. The dashboard is dominated by a large touchscreen that replaces most physical buttons, creating a clean and clutter-free layout. Premium materials and plush seating ensure comfort, while features like wireless charging and advanced connectivity options cater to tech-savvy buyers.

VinFast VF 6 powertrain

Under the hood, the VF 6 is powered by a single electric motor available in two variants. The base model delivers 174 PS and 250 Nm of torque, while the higher-spec version offers 201 PS and 310 Nm of torque. Both variants are equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 399 km on a single charge. The SUV also supports fast charging, allowing drivers to recharge up to 80% in just 30 minutes.

New factory in Tamil Nadu

VinFast has ambitious plans for the Indian market. The company is investing INR 4,000 crore in a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, which will produce the VF 6 and other models locally. This move aims to reduce costs and make the VF 6 competitive in India’s price-sensitive market. The SUV is expected to be priced between INR 25 lakh and INR 30 lakh, positioning it as a premium offering in the EV segment.

The VF 6 will compete with rivals like the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Tata Nexon EV Max. With its sleek design, advanced features, and impressive range, the VF 6 has the potential to carve out a niche for itself in India’s growing EV market.
