VinFast patents VF3 electric mini-SUV in India

Vietnamese electric vehicle brand, VinFast unveiled the VF3 mini-eSUV at the CES 2024. The VinFast VF3 features a geometric design with blocks and lines with butch looks. The brand has now filed design patents for the VF3 mini-SUV in the Indian market. This leads us to believe that the brand is planning to introduce the SUV in the Indian market.

VinFast in India

VinFast officially revealed that the company is investing around USD 500 Million in the Indian market. In addition to this, the brand will soon open up a production facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Currently, the brand offers the VF8 and VF9 Electric Cars in the international markets.

However, the higher-end cars retail at USD 46,000 and USD 79,800 in the United States. VinFast could be planning to introduce the smaller more affordable version which the brand will bring specifically for Indian customers. The VinFast V3 comes with a boxy design compact features but ample ground clearance. The mini-SUV also comes with 16-inch wheels for it to tackle all terrains.

VinFast VF3 – Technical Specifications

In terms of size, the VinFast VF3 measures 3,190 mm in length, 1679 mm in width, 1620 mm in height. Even though the mini-SUV comes with compact dimensions the VF3 comes with 550-litres of boot space. Of course provided you fold the second-row seats. The four seater VF3 also offers around 200 km of range on a single charge. The VinFast VF3 also offers a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

VinFast Production Plant

VinFast has just signed an MOU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to acquire 400 acres of land in Thoothukudi. The integrated EV manufacturing unit will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. Thanks to the new production facility, VinFast will be creating more than 3,000 t0 3,500 direct jobs and also facilitate economic growth in the area.
