Piaggio has launched the most affordable Vespa scooter, the Vespa Urban Club. The Urban Club is a new variant sold under the Vespa brand and has been launched at the price of INR 72,190 ex-showroom, Pune. The Urban Club comes in the classic Vespa design outline and much of the hardware remain the same.

The scooter features rounded halogen powered headlights and front turn indicators integrated with the apron, same as other models. What differentiates the Urban Club scooter is the black finished mirror housing, black finish apron garnish, black finish front fender garnish, black wheels, black-bordered taillights, etc.

The Vespa Urban Club is available in four colour options which are as follows:-

  • Glossy Red
  • Glossy Yellow
  • Maze Grey
  • Azzurro Provenza (Light Blue)

The Vespa Urban Club is powered by a 124.49cc, single-cylinder, air/fan-cooled engine with three valves and a carburetor fuel delivery system which produces 9.5 PS of power @ 7,250 RPM and 9.9Nm @ 6,250 RPM coupled to a CVT gearbox.

For its suspension, it offers a single-sided trailing arm hydraulic shock on the front and a hydraulic monoshock on the rear. The brakes are internally expanding mechanical drum brakes with 150mm front and 140mm rear drum diameter and are equipped with a combi-braking system (CBS) as standard.

In terms of competition, the Vespa Urban Club rivals the likes of Honda Grazia 125, Suzuki Access 125, TVS Ntorq 125 but the competition gets more optional equipment such as a front disc brake, digital instruments, connectivity features, LED lights, telescopic suspension, etc.

The Urban Club scooters have already reached Vespa dealerships and are up for sale.
