Vespa has unveiled a new line of special edition scooters under the Officina 8 banner, celebrating the brand’s legendary Experimental Department at the Piaggio plant in Pontedera, Italy. This workshop, known as Officina 8, was the birthplace of the first Vespa prototypes in the post-war era and played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s identity.
The new Officina 8 editions are available on the Primavera (50, 125, and 150cc) and the GTV 310, two of Vespa’s most iconic models. These scooters are not just cosmetic upgrades—they are rolling tributes to the craftsmanship, innovation, and rebellious spirit that defined Vespa’s early years.
Design: Industrial chic meets Italian elegance
The standout feature is the Blu Officina 8 matte metallic paint, a deep industrial blue inspired by vintage machinery and workshop uniforms. This is complemented by:
- Satin-finish aluminium on the shield, headlight, and tail light
- Brass accents on the handlebar grille and diamond-cut wheel rims
- Dual-textured seat with horizontal stitching and polished brass rivets
- A 3D Officina 8 badge on the bodywork
The GTV variant adds a body-coloured front fairing, matte black bar-end mirrors, and other subtle racing cues to emphasize its sporty DNA.
A Vespa collector’s experience
Each Officina 8 scooter comes with a collector’s welcome kit, which includes:
- A custom tin box in the scooter’s colour scheme
- A special Owner’s Book chronicling the history of Officina 8 through archival material
Vespa has also launched a matching line of accessories and apparel, including:
- A Blu Officina 8 jet helmet with dual visors
- Touchscreen-compatible gloves
- A windbreaker, hoodie, T-shirt, and sports bag
