Updated Aprilia SR 125 and SR 160 – What to expect?

As seen in the spy shots, the updated models look identical to the current models. However, these are likely to get minor design updates and new feature additions. Also, the graphics and colour themes on both models will be revised to give them a fresh appeal.

The major feature update is going to be the addition of a TFT colour screen that will expectedly feature Bluetooth smartphone connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, and more. The design updates will include slight changes to the side panels, front fairing, and the front design.

Powering both scooters will be the current engine option respectively. But, Aprilia will make these engines OBD-2B compliant. The SR 125 uses an air-cooled 124.45cc engine that makes 9.98 bhp and 10.33 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the bigger SR 160 is equipped with a 160.03cc air-cooled engine that makes 10.93 bhp and 12.13 Nm of peak power and torque.

Our verdict

The current SR 125 is priced from Rs 1,21,480 ex-showroom, Delhi. While the SR 160 range starts from Rs 1,30,378 ex-showroom, Delhi. The new updated models will be priced above the current price tag due to the added technology and updated design. Hence, we are expecting a price hike of around Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 on both models.
