VinFast VF6 – A new rival for Hyundai Creta electric

Not long ago, the same V6 test car that had been spotted recently was seen at a charging station in Mumbai. Now, the new clear shots reveal that the Indian-spec model will look identical to the car showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 earlier this year.

The VF6 is a mid-size crossover SUV that features a unique, elegant, and sporty design. The test car shows that it will be equipped with a connected LED light setting at both ends. Internationally, the VF6 is 4,241 mm long and has a wheelbase of 190mm, which puts it in the Hyundai Creta Electric’s rivalry.

Along with the ‘V’ styling LED lights on the front, the test car has ample body cladding and dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, similar to the international-spec model.

On the inside, the VF6 uses a very simple, minimalist, and elegant design. The beige and black combo cabin theme is matched with a big 12.9-inch infotainment screen and wireless phone connectivity with features like voice-assist and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Interestingly, the VF6 has no instrument console; rather, it uses a detailed driver head-up display (HUD), which projects all the necessary information on the go. It also gets the level 2 ADAS safety features as standard.

Meanwhile, its cabin is loaded with modern comfort and convenience features like dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, electric seats with ventilation, and more.

Powering the global-spec VF6 is a 59.6 kWh battery pack, which is mated to a single electric motor. It produces 204 bhp of peak power and 301 Nm of peak torque, while delivering a WLTP-claimed range of 480 km.

Our verdict

VinFast is expected to debut around the festive season this year in India. Its first product launch will be the VF7 EV, which will be followed by the launch of the VF6. Both of the models will compete in the mid-size and entry-level premium electric car segment in India, while competing with rivals like the Tata Curvv EV and the Hyundai Creta Electric.
