VinFast VF6 – What to expect?

VinFast showcased its product lineup at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 earlier this year. The Vietnam-based electric carmaker attracted a lot of eyeballs at the auto show.

Not long ago, the brand confirmed that it is going to launch two of its EVs in India, the VF7 and the VF6. While the VF7 has been testing for a while in India, the VF6 has been recently spied in Mumbai.

The VF6 EV is a slightly smaller crossover than the VF7, which is globally sold in two variants: Eco and Plus. The Eco variant has a single motor, 171 bhp and 250 Nm setup, with a claimed range of 400 km.

Meanwhile, the Plus version offers a dual motor setup, which makes 198 bhp and 309 Nm of power and torque, offering a WLTP-claimed range of 381 km.

VinFast has also stated that it will bring its V-Green fast charger network to India, which will offer rapid charging options ranging from 60 kW to 300 kW. The brand has also collaborated with Tata Power for local charging support.

The expected price tag of the VF6 EV in India will be Rs 18 – 22 lakh, while the rivals include Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.

Our verdict

The upcoming range of VinFast electric cars will change the EV segment forever. For now, it is only a handful of brands that offer EVs at this price point, but VinFast will offer premium EVs at an affordable price tag, which are already acclaimed for their quality and performance globally.
