Renault Kwid Electric: What do we know so far?

The recent spy shots of the Kwid EV test car showcase that it will get a similar design to its badge-engineered sibling, the Dacia Spring EV.

The overall silhouette of the test car is similar to the Spring EV, while it gets some top-spec features like the rear wash and wiper, wheel covers, and body coloured ORVMs.

As Kwid Electric is going to target the affordable EV segment, it will come loaded with a mix of modern features and basic design.

2026 Renault Kwid EV

On the outside, the charging port is likely to be positioned at the front, while it will offer a modern outlook with the LED lights.

Inside the cabin, it will take inspiration from the Dacia Spring EV. Expect it to feature a digital driver’s console, a big infotainment screen, wireless phone connectivity, auto AC, and more.

If the Kwid EV’s platform is similar to the Spring EV, then it will most likely get the 26.8 kWh battery pack, which offers 220 km range on the Dacia Spring EV.

Considering its main rivals are the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV, it will be priced above Rs 7 lakh. The expected launch timeline for the Kwid EV is early 2026.

Our verdict

The upcoming Kwid EV is likely to become a pivot product for the company in India, as it has a very small product portfolio currently. Also, it will become the first electric car from the brand, hence it has high expectations from customers and EV enthusiasts.
