Ultraviolette F99 Factory Racing platform – What is it?

Ultraviolette has announced a new factory racing program. The electric start-up unveiled the F99 Racing Platform at the Auto Expo 2023.

The Ultraviolette F99 will spawn the first electric motorsports based vehicle in India. Taking inspiration from Aviation and Racing, the platform is designed for maximum power with all the necessary safety checks. The peak power of the platform is said to be 65 BHP which will propel the bike to speeds in excess of 200 km/h. 

The F99 Factory Racing Platform has been created with the aim of technology advancement and Research And Development in India. It uses advanced battery technology, drivetrain engineering, new material innovation like carbon composited and aerodynamics for high speed applications. The platform will allow vehicles based on it to offer good performance and efficiency while at the same time allow the rider to take benefit of customisable ergonomics as per their liking. 

Ultraviolette F77 – An electric motorcycle

Ultraviolette Automotive Pvt. Ltd launched its F77 electric motorcycle on 24 November 2022. The bike has been designed and developed in India and will be launched first in Bengaluru, followed by a pan-India roll-out in a phased manner. In the future, the electric mobility company aims to launch the F77 in Europe and the USA. Ultraviolette aims to offer an EV bike that is comparable in performance to an equivalent of a 300cc motorcycle. 

The motorcycle uses a trellis frame and a cast aluminium swingarm in terms of chassis. Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Given the performance, F77 features disc brakes at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS.

The company claims a single charge range of 200 km for the F77. Meanwhile, its performance levels will be on par with a 300cc ICE motorcycle. It is powered by a 25 kW electric motor which is capable of producing a peak torque of 90 Nm. The 0-60 km/h time is also claimed to be around 2.9 seconds.
