Taxi service provided Uber has introduced a new, affordable taxi service dubbed as the UberGo. Uber now has a total of three services based on different price slabs – UberGo (hatchbacks), UberX (sedans) and UberBlack (MPVs).
UberGo will provide cheaper chauffer-driven mobility solutions with the use of B1 segment hatchbacks such as Tata Indica, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Toyota Etios Liva.
Base rate for the UberGo is set at Rs. 40 and will increase by Rs. 12 per kilometre. The minimum fare has been set at Rs. 80 and the service also charges Rs. 1 per minute (Mumbai city pricing).
Uber claims that this service will suit the needs of commuters who want to travel a short distance. Uber is also offering a 25% discount on its services.
Uber has now tied up with digital payment provided PayTM for payment procedures. This has been done to meet the requirements of the Reserve Bank of India and not to skip the two-step verification process and also, fare to be charged in INR.
