TVS Motor Company has evolved as a homegrown racing expert among the entry-level motorcycle class. From organising its own Apache Race Series for over two decades, to now becoming the official race machine supplier to the INMRC (Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship) 2025, TVS has really made it big.

Starting from June 6, the INMRC 2025 season is set to take place in Chennai, at the Madras International Circuit. However, unlike every year, a new 200cc stock class, called National Championship Pro Stock 200, has been introduced to elevate the talent and competition.

For the first time ever, an Indian two-wheeler brand has been trusted by the management for curating a race-spec motorcycle, which is powered by a powerful 200cc engine, making 40% more power than the Apache RTR 200.

After a rigorous testing and selection process, seven independent teams and 12 riders have made it to the newly introduced Stock Pro 200 class. Additionally, TVS will be providing the complete technical support throughout the season, which is set to end on June 8.

Speaking of the GP200R race bike, TVS has heavily modified the 200cc engine for more power and performance. The GP200R bike can reach up to 155 km/h top speed.

Meanwhile, it weighs 105 kg due to the use of lightweight material construction, including the aluminium frame, aerodynamic body kit, modified cylinder-head, advanced ECU, high-lift camshaft, and more.

Our verdict

The introduction of a new 200cc stock class is a big welcome for motorsport enthusiasts nationwide. With TVS now being the official race machine supplier, we hope that more manufacturers will get involved in the future, eventually leading to a better motorsport community building.
