TVS & Swiggy join hands to accelerate electrification

Renowned Indian two and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has announced its partnership with Swiggy to accelerate electrification. TVS Motor signed the MoU with one of the leading on-demand delivery platforms in order to diversify mobility segments. TVS Motor Company’s vision aligns with Swiggy’s efforts to enable the adoption of EVs in its delivery fleet across India. The MoU also dictates that TVS Motors and Swiggy will test the implementation of EVs for food delivery and services.

The partnership will allow the two companies to explore the co-creation of sustainable and comprehensive solutions for Swiggy’s delivery partners. Some of these solutions include customized packages, flexible financing options, and connected services that will play a vital role. Swiggy states that it aims to conduct deliveries that span 8,00,000 Km per day using EVs by 2025. By signing the MoU with Swiggy, TVS also aims to expand the presence of its iQube e-scooter across the country.

TVS iQube e-scooter: Detailed Highlights 

TVS Motor Company launched the iQube across 33 cities in India, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Kochi, and Coimbatore. The iQube e-scooter uses a 4.4 kW electric motor which offers a claimed riding range of 75 Km. Along with a top speed figure of 78 kph, the iQube sports a 2.25 kWh battery pack. Additionally, the TVS iQube sports a unique design with a single LED headlamp mounted on the beak with integrated indicators.

To enhance the comfort factor, TVS has equipped the iQube with telescopic front forks and dual gas-charged rear shock absorbers. TVS has also equipped the iQube with convenience-based connectivity features, which riders can access via the iQube app. After connecting to the TFT digital display with a smartphone, riders can access features like a battery status indicator. Other features include the parking location finder, SMS and call alerts, geofencing, Q-park assist, and a USB charger.

In December 2021, TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad announced their partnership of producing new platforms and technologies for EVs. The companies plan to foray into developing electric vehicle technology to offer world-class quality, supply chain management, and industrialization. The partnership will also allow the two companies to significantly improve their business benefits on a global scale.
