TVS Motor Company has sold a total of 2,95,308 units for April 2022. The figure has risen from 2,38,983 units for April 2021, thus representing a growth of 24 per cent. TVS, too, mentioned the shortage in the supply of semiconductor chips that has impacted the production and sales greatly. Hence, TVS is working aggressively with alternate sources and making every effort to improve supplies at the earliest. With the demand showing positive signs, TVS is quite optimistic about the sales for the future. Recently, TVS announced its partnership with Rapido to expand its business in the last-mile delivery business. Previously, TVS had announced its partnership with Swiggy to encourage mass electrification in the delivery services business.
Sales Figure In Detail
Two-Wheelers
For the two-wheeler segment, TVS posted a total sales of 2,80,022 units for the given period. The same for April 2021 stood at 2,26,193 units, thus resulting in a growth of 24 per cent. For the domestic market, two-wheeler sales increased from 131,386 units in April 2021 to 180,533 units in April 2022, a 37 per cent increase. For motorcycles, the sales grew by 4 per cent, increasing from 133,227 units in April 2021 to 139,027 units in April 2022. Scooters sales saw an increase of 57 per cent, growing from 65,213 units in April 2021 to 102,209 units in April 2022.
Overseas Market
In the international market, TVS’s export figure grew by 6 per cent. The figure stood at 113,427 units in April 2022, up from 107,185 units for the same period last year. Two-wheeler exports grew by 5%, from 94,807 units in April 2021 to 99,489 units in April 2022.
Three-Wheelers
In the three-wheeler segment, TVS posted a sales growth of 20 per cent. The figure rose from 12,790 units in April 2021 to 15,286 units in April 2022.
Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles are getting increasingly popular in the market. Most of the EV makers are posting positive sales figures, and the same is also true for TVS. The domestic two-wheeler sales include TVS iQube Electric sales of 1,420 units in April 2022 as against 307 units sold in April 2021.
