TVS sold 2,90,694 two-wheelers in August 2021

TVS Motor Company announces its sales report for August 2021. The company sold a total of 2,90,694 units in the given period. Meanwhile, the figure for August 2020 stood at 2,87,398 units. With the easing up of restrictions, customer footfalls to the showrooms have increased significantly. The upcoming festive season will further boost the sales figures. TVS mentioned that the production of premium two-wheelers is severely affected due to the shortage of semiconductors in the global market. TVS recently announced the Built To Order for its flagship Apache RR310. Customers will have two kits to choose from, namely, Race Kit and Dynamic Kit. The fully loaded Apache RR310 motorcycle has a sticker price of INR 2,81,490 (ex-showroom).

Two-Wheeler Segment

Overall in the two-wheeler segment, TVS registered a total sales of 2,74,313 units in August 2021. As opposed to 2,77,226 units for the same period last year. In the domestic two-wheeler market, TVS registered a total sales of 1,79,999 units for August 2021 as against 2,18,338 units for the same period last year. The total number of motorcycles sold in August 2021 was 1,33,789 units, up from 1,19,878 units for August 2020. The scooter segment accounted for a total sales of 87,059 units in August 2021. Meanwhile, for August 2020, the figure stood at 87,044 units.

International Business

TVS’s total export figure for August 2021 stood at 1,09,927 units, as against 68,347 units in August 2020. This results in a growth of 61 per cent. The two-wheeler export figure stood at 94,314 units, up from 58,888 units for the same period last year. This translates to a growth of 60 per cent. The demand in the international market remains steady and robust. TVS also confirmed that the situation of container availability is improving and hence the export figure is on the rise.

Three-Wheeler Segment

For August 2021, the TVS Motor Company sold a total of 16,381 units of three-wheelers. The figure for August 2020 stood at 10,172 units. And hence the year-on-year results to 61 per cent of growth.
