TVS sold 2,75,115 two-wheelers in January 2023

TVS Motor Company has posted its sales for December 2022. The company posted a total sales of 275,115 units for the given period. The figure rose from 266,788 units in January 2022. With this latest sales report, we can see that the demand for TVS has been strong in the market and the brand is consistently delivering good numbers.

Two-Wheeler Sales Numbers

The two-wheelers registered a total sales of 264,710 units for January 2023. This is up from 254,139 units from back in January 2022. Domestic two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 29 per cent. The figure increased from 167,795 units in January 2022 to 216,471 units in January 2023.

The motorcycle segment witnessed a total sales of 121,042 units in January 2023 as against 137,630 units in January 2022. The scooter segment, meanwhile, registered a growth of 28 per cent. The sales improved from 80,580 units in January 2022 to 106,537 units in January 2023.

Electric Vehicle Sales Numbers

TVS iQube Electric is the lone electric vehicles in the TVS portfolio. It registered a sale of 12,169 units in January 2023. This is the highest ever sales number in one month for the EV. In January 2022, the iQube sold just 1,529 units. January also marks the third consecutive month that the sales of this scooter have crossed the 10,000 mark. 

Export Sales Numbers

The Company’s total exports stood at 57,024 units in January 2023 as against 97,858 units in January 2022. The Two-wheeler exports stood at 48,239 units in January 2023 as against 86,344 units in January 2022. Uncertainty in the international markets has made TVS reduce stock for international partners. This has also improved domestic production.

Three-Wheeler Sales Numbers

For the three-wheeler segment, TVS registered a total sales of 10,405 units in January 2023. Meanwhile the same for January 2022 stood at 12,649 units.

EV vehicle onslaught of TVS

TVS is planning to launch a few more all-electric offerings in the two-wheeler segment. At an investors’ meeting, K N Radhakrishnan, CEO and Director at TVS, revealed the plans. According to the plans, the Indian bike maker will launch many EVs in the next 18 months. The power output for these will range from 5 kW to 25 kW.
