TVS sales in India grew by 17.5% in December 2020

TVS Motor Company has released its sales report for the month of December 2020. The company registered a total of 2,72,084 units of sale for December 2020 as compared to 2,31,571 for the same period last year and thus recording a growth of 17.5%. The two-wheelers sales grew by 20%, for December 2020 it registered 2,58,239 units whereas for December 2019 it registered 2,15,619 units. For the domestic two-wheeler segment, TVS claimed that it sold around 1,76,912 units in December 2020 as against 1,57,244 units in December 2019 which translates to 13% growth.

The motorcycle segment, the main forte of the TVS Motor Company registered 1,19,051 units of sale for December 2020 whereas for December 2019 it sold 74,716 units which resulted in a growth of 27%. The export figure also grew by 28%, for December 2020 it exported 94,269 units as compared to 73,512 units in December 2019. The two-wheeler export has observed a growth of 39%, with 81,327 units exported in the month of December 2020 as compared to 58,375 units in December 2019. In the three-wheeler segment, the company sold 13,845 units for December 2020 as against 15,952 units for the same period last year.

In terms of quarterly performance, TVS Motor Company reported sales of 9.52 lakh units for the third quarter of the current financial year whereas for the same period last year it posted 7.73 lakh units. For the three-wheeler segment, the company registered 0.38 lakh units for the third quarter of the financial year 2020-21 as against 0.48 lakh units in the third quarter of the financial year 2019-20.
