TVS sales grow by 9% in September 2022, 3,79,011 units dispatched

TVS Motor Company has released its September 2022 sales report. For the given period, the company registered a growth of 9 per cent with sales of 379,011 units. The sales for the same period in 2021 stood at 347,156 units.

Detailed Sales Breakup

Two-Wheeler

For the two-wheelers sales, TVS registered a growth of 9 per cent in September 2022. The figure rose from 332,511 units in September 2021 to 361,729 units in September 2022. Domestic two-wheelers registered an increase of 16 per cent. TVS’ sales improved from 244,084 units in September 2021 to 283,878 units in September 2022.

The motorcycles segment accounted for a growth of 2 per cent. Sales increased from 166,046 units in September 2021 to 169,322 units in September 2022. Meanwhile, scooters registered a growth of 39 per cent, with sales increasing from 104,091 units in September 2021 to 144,356 units for the given period.

TVS Motor Company also mentioned that it had had a robust start to the festive season. Going by the trend, TVS also expects the demand to maintain momentum and further accelerate during the season.

International Business

In terms of international business, the company’s total exports registered sales of 92,975 units in September 2022. The same for September 2021 stood at 102,259 units. Two-wheeler exports registered a total sales of 77,851 units in September 2022, up from 88,427 units in September 2021. On the international market’s front, there was a marginal improvement. TVS mentioned the challenges with the economic slowdown and higher inflation which still persist. However, TVS is cautiously optimistic that the sales momentum will continue to improve in the coming months.

Three-Wheeler

The Three-wheeler segment of the company registered 18 per cent growth. The sales improved from 14,645 units in September 2021 to 17,282 units in September 2022.

Electric Vehicle

For the EV segment, the company sold 4,923 units of TVS iQube Electric in September 2022. This, when compared to September 2021’s figure, stood at 766 units.

Q2 Sales Performance

During the Q2 of the current financial year, two-wheelers posted a growth of 12 per cent. The sales figure stood at 9.77 lakh units as against sales of 8.70 lakh units in the second quarter FY 21-22. The three-wheeler segment of the company also registered a growth of 7 per cent. The sales stood at 0.51 lakh units in the second quarter of the current year against 0.47 lakh units in the Q2 of FY 21-22.
