TVS registered growth of 22% in June 2022 with sales of 3,08,501 units

TVS Motor Company has released its latest sales report. The company has posted a sales figure of 3,08,501 units for June 2022. Meanwhile, the figure for June 2021 stood at 2,51,886 units. TVS also mentioned the shortage in the supply of semiconductors, which has significantly impacted production. But TVS has clarified that they are taking all possible steps to improve supplies at the earliest. The brand is also positive that the situation will improve in the coming months.

Detailed Sales Report

Two-Wheeler Segment

For this segment, TVS reported a sales growth of 23 per cent in June 2022. The figure rose from 2,38,092 units in June 2021 to 2,93,715 units in June 2022. In the domestic two-wheeler market, TVS reported a growth of 33 per cent. The sales rose from 145,413 units in June 2021 to 193,090 units in June 2022. TVS sold a total of 146,075 motorcycles in June 2022 as against 146,874 units in June 2021. Meanwhile, scooter sales grew from 53,956 units in June 2021 to 105,211 units in June 2022.

International Sales

The export figure for TVS for June 2022 was 114,449 units. Compared to 106,246 units in June 2021, it is an increase of 8 per cent. Specifically, two-wheeler exports grew by 9 per cent from 92,679 units in June 2021 to 100,625 units in June 2022.

Three-Wheeler Segment

TVS is an important player in this segment and grew by 7 per cent. The figure rose from 13,794 units in June 2021 to 14,786 units in June 2022.

Electric Mobility

Currently, TVS has the iQube as its only EV offering. The sales for this scooter stood at 4,667 units for June 2022. Interestingly, this is also its highest ever, as TVS reported a month-over-month growth of 77 per cent.

Quarterly Sales Performance

June also marks the end of the first quarter of the current financial year. In this period, two-wheeler sales grew by a 39 per cent increase from 6.2 lakh units in the Q1 of FY 21-22 to 8.6 lakh units in the current quarter. Three-wheelers grew by 18 per cent, increasing from 0.39 lakh units in Q1 of FY 21-22 to 0.46 lakh units in Q1 of the current year.
