TVS introduces ‘Buy now Pay after 6 months’ finance scheme for TVS XL100

Chennai-based Indian multinational two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company has announced a customer-centric finance scheme ‘Buy now Pay after six months’ EMI option for the TVS XL100. 

According to the new scheme, the customer is offered with the option of a 6-month moratorium before the commencement of EMI payment after the purchase of TVS XL100, essentially giving the customer a 6-month holiday from the first six EMIs. The Loan to Value (LTV) for this scheme will be 75% and the scheme is valid only till 31 July, 2020. 

The brand launched the TVS XL100 in the BS6 avatar a couple of months ago at the price of INR 42,362 ex-showroom, Mumbai. The TVS XL100 now features an electronic fuel injection system called EcoThrust Fuel Injection Technology (ETFi) claiming to be more efficient and has improved the mileage by 15% as compared to the BS4 predecessor. 

In terms of styling, the TVS XL100 comes with a classic moped design featuring a rounded headlamp, LED bar style daytime running lights below the headlight unit, upright handlebar, large ergonomic seats, metal grab rail for the pillion, a large footbed, low mounted engine and exhaust system as well as features such an analogue speedometer, low-fuel indicator, iTOUCHstart push-button start/stop with an engine kill switch integrated into one button, mobile charging, OBD-I (On-Board Diagnostics) with a self-diagnostic system etc.

The XL100 Heavy Duty is powered by a BS6 emission compliant 99.7cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that produces 4.3 BHP of power and 6.5 Nm of torque matched to a single-speed gearbox with a centrifugal wet clutch and a chain-type final drive. 

In mechanical terms, the TVS XL100 is equipped with telescopic spring type hydraulic front suspension and twin hydraulic shocks mounted on the rear swingarm along with 110mm diameter mechanically operated drum brake with expanding shoes with sync braking technology. The TVS XL100 weighs in at 85.5 kgs dry and has a 130 kg payload-carrying capacity with a 4-litre fuel tank and 1228mm wheelbase. 

TVS has sold more than 1.25 crore units of the TVS XL100 across the country since its inception in the year 1980.
