TVS Apache RTR 310 road testing with winglets

Written by News Team

The TVS Apache RTR 310 has recently been spotted undergoing road tests with a new aerodynamic feature: winglets.

Aesthetic and Functional Enhancements

The addition of winglets to the Apache RTR 310 is a notable update. Winglets, typically seen on high-performance supersport motorcycles, are designed to improve aerodynamics by providing additional downforce. This helps in enhancing stability at high speeds. However, for a 300cc motorcycle like the Apache RTR 310, the primary benefit of these winglets is likely to be aesthetic, giving the bike a more aggressive and sporty look.

Engine and Performance Upgrades

The Apache RTR 310 is powered by a 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The current model produces 34 PS at 9700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7600rpm. There is speculation that the updated model might receive a slight power bump, potentially adopting the engine tuning from the Apache RR 310, which produces 35.6 PS. This would make the RTR 310 even more competitive in its segment, which includes rivals like the BMW G 310 RR, the KTM RC 390, and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

Advanced Features

In addition to the winglets, the updated Apache RTR 310 is expected to carry over several advanced features from its sibling, the Apache RR 310. These features may include cruise control, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, ventilated seats, and wheelie control. Such enhancements would not only improve the bike’s performance but also its safety and rider comfort.

Market Position and Pricing

The current model of the Apache RTR 310 is priced at approximately INR 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the addition of winglets and other potential upgrades, the price is expected to see a slight increase, possibly reaching around INR 2.90 lakh. Despite the price hike, the Apache RTR 310 is likely to remain a strong contender in the 300cc segment, offering a blend of performance, style, and advanced features.
