TVS Apache 450 under development, launch soon?

BMW F450GS

TVS has officially confirmed that it is developing a new 450cc platform, which is likely to be shared with Norton and BMW motorcycles. This new 450cc platform will most likely be used for the Apache moniker expansion.

Meanwhile, Norton, a UK-based iconic motorcycle brand that is now owned by TVS, is also developing a similar product by using the 450cc engine. This 450cc engine is the same one that we saw on the BMW F450GS prototype at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.

This parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor is being co-developed by BMW and TVS. However, its production will be centralized at the Hosur-based TVS production facility.

With that said, TVS aims at expanding its portfolio into the premium motorcycle category. While the commuter and electric segment is sorted for the brand, it lacks products in the premium segment, where rivals like Royal Enfield are pacing up consistently.

In addition to the 450cc Apache, the brand is also ready to debut a new adventure motorcycle based on the Apache RTR 310. It is likely to be called Apache RTX 300, and it will be followed by a Super Moto iteration launch later.

Our verdict

The upcoming 450cc platform can prove beneficial for TVS due to its absence in the premium category. As of now, the brand only has the RTR 310 series, which is a pivot entrance for the premium customers. This is likely to get changed with the upcoming 450 models.
