We had reported before about the Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle’s launch delay. And now, the updated timeline is set around the end of this year. In a recent scoop, we have the latest spy shots that have surfaced online. Upon close scrutiny, we can make some conclusions from these images.
Bajaj And Triumph JV To Launch A Slew Of Products
We are pretty sure that this joint venture between Bajaj and Triumph Motorcycles will result in the launch of multiple models. As of now, we have already seen a scrambler and a neo-retro motorcycle being tested so far. The most recent spotting is of the neo-retro motorcycle. We see it featuring a round headlight which could be an all-LED unit. We also see a wide handlebar with bar-end mirrors and an LED taillight. Very similar to the previously seen model, this one also benefits from a single-piece seat and a grab rail. In addition to this, the exhaust seen on the test mule is a single-barrel unit, again very similar to the one tested overseas.
What Do We Know So Far?
We understand Bajaj will launch the motorcycle in both 250cc and 400cc engines. KTM will provide the engines for these motorcycles. And for the mechanicals, the spy shots show USD front forks, a monoshock, and a single front/rear disc brake setup with ABS. There are alloy wheels on offer with road-biassed tyres wrapped around, which is better suited for this model.
250cc Motorcycle For The Indian Market
Bajaj could launch the 250cc motorcycle for the Indian market. This is because the 250cc makes sense, given the price-sensitive market like India. Meanwhile, the 400cc variant will most likely head to the European market. An official unveiling could most likely happen before the EICMA 2023. After that Bajaj will start production at its Chakan plant. After the global debut, we expect motorcycles to reach dealerships by 2024.
