The upcoming special edition of the Trident 660 naked sportsbike is inspired by the five victories of Triumph in the world’s deadliest motorcycle race, the Isle of Man TT. It features the special paint livery of the motorcycles used in the championship.

Speaking of the changes, the special edition Trident 660 gets a unique tri-colour combination of white, blue, and red. The base paint is white, over which the unique dark blue and red colour accents are used to highlight the design. There is also a number 67 emblem, which represents the brand’s iconic motorcycle racing victory bikes.

Additionally, Triumph has equipped the upcoming special edition Trident with a white colour flyscreen, a belly pan guard, and a shift assist as standard. Mind you, these three parts are optional accessories for the standard Trident 660.

Apart from the special paint and the accessories, the upcoming special edition Trident will be similar to the standard model. It is powered by a 660cc, inline-three cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which develops 80 bhp and 64 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively.

As it will be a limited edition model, we suspect its pricing will be in the range of Rs 8.50 lakh

Our verdict

The Triumph Trident 660 is a nimble, compact, practical, and fun-to-ride everyday sportsbike. However, it has been positioned at a premium, which has led to mediocre sales figures for it till now. The special edition is likely to revive customer interest in the brand.
