Triumph to launch a refreshed Speed 400 soon

Written by News Team

Triumph Motorcycles is gearing up to launch a refreshed variant of its popular Speed 400 model on September 17, 2024. This new addition to the 400cc lineup is expected to bring some exterior changes and feature enhancements to the Speed 400.

Design and Features

The upcoming Speed 400 variant is anticipated to retain the classic design elements that have made the model a favorite among riders. The teaser images reveal a teardrop-shaped fuel tank adorned with a striking red and white livery, complemented by a flat seat. The bike is expected to feature bar-end rearview mirrors, adding to its neo-retro aesthetic.

Engine and Performance

The refreshed Speed 400 will continue to house the robust 398 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This powertrain delivers an impressive 39.5 BHP and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. These specifications ensure that the bike maintains its reputation for a balanced mix of power and efficiency.

Expected Enhancements

While the core mechanical components are likely to remain unchanged, Triumph is expected to introduce several enhancements to make the new variant more appealing. These could include cost-saving measures and possibly new color schemes to give the bike a fresh look. The refreshed model might also feature updated ergonomics for a more comfortable riding posture.

Market Position and Pricing

Triumph’s decision to launch a more affordable variant of the Speed 400 comes at a strategic time, aiming to boost sales during the festive season. The new model is expected to be priced competitively, making it an attractive option for both new riders and seasoned enthusiasts. The Speed 400 rivals the KTM Duke 390, Royal Enfield Guerilla and the Hunter 350, the Harley Davidson 440X and the Hero Mavrick 440. This will be the first update the Speed 400 will get since its launch.
