Triumph Tiger 850 Sport coming soon, road-focused adventure motorcycle

Triumph has unveiled the new Tiger 850 Sport with tailor-made equipment and technology for all-day easy-riding capability. The Tiger 850 Sport will also be available in the European market with the A2 licence compliance kit. The new Tiger 850 Sport will be available in two new contemporary graphic stylings and 60+ Genuine Triumph Accessories. 

The Triumph Tiger 850 Sport will be powered by a Euro5 compliant 888cc liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder, 12 valves DOHC engine with Multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection that churns out 85 PS of power and 82 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission along with a wet multi-plate clutch with slip & assist system. The Triumph Tiger 850 Sport also features a stainless steel 3 into 1 header system with an upswept side-mounted stainless steel exhaust system as standard. 

The Tiger 850 Sport features the same T-plane crank front the latest generation Tiger 900 with a 1-3-2 firing order and its own unique tune. The engine has been specifically tuned to deliver more accessible and usable power and torque with manageable delivery that allows easy riding on the highway, urban commutes as well as weekend sprints. The T-Plane Crank and the 1-3-2 firing order also claim to deliver more tractability at low RPM making a connection between the man and the machine. The unique configuration also produces a distinctive sound. 

The new Tiger 850 Sport is underpinned by the new generation modular frame with bolt-on aluminium rear sub-frame and bolt-on pillion hangers and rides on 45mm Marzocchi upside-down cartridge forks with 180mm travel on the front and preload-adjustable gas pressurised monoshock rear suspension unit with 170mm of travel. Braking power comes from Twin 320mm discs with Brembo Stylema 4 piston Monobloc callipers and radial front master cylinder along with a single 255mm disc with Brembo calliper on the rear equipped with a dual-channel ABS.

The Tiger 850 Sport features an upright fairing with a tall windscreen, a front beak, chiselled fuel tank, boomerang-shaped radiator cowling, LED headlamps with Triumph signature LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, 12V charging socket, a narrow seat with ergonomically optimised footrest position and angle adjustable handlebars for ultimate comfort on the highway as well as the city. The Tiger 850 Sport also comes with a built-in two-position adjustable seat height mechanism enabling the rider to change the seat height by 20mm. The Tiger 850 Sport also features two riding modes – Road and Rain that automatically adjust the ride-by-wire throttle response and traction control settings, a high contrast 5-inch full TFT instruments cluster, switchable traction control, and all LED lighting. 

The Triumph Tiger 850 Sport is offered in two paint options – Graphite and Diablo Red 
or Graphite and Caspian Blue with Triumph Tiger 850 Sport graphic theme. Triumph also offers 60 plus accessories for the Tiger 850 Sport, created in partnership with ‘Givi’ for the luggage range. The Tiger 850 Sport is also offered with other accessories for safety, capability, style and security.
