Mind you, the Speed T4 is a spin-off version of the Speed 400 motorcycle. It is based on the same platform as the Speed 400 but it gets lower-spec hardware and a de-tuned engine for better city performance and aggressive pricing. The newly updated T4 is now available at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Powering the Speed T4 is the 399cc single-cylinder LC4 engine derived from the Speed 400. However, the revised internal components and de-tuning resulted in a peak output of 30.6 bhp and 36 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed transmission that also gets a slipper clutch.

Feature-wise, it comes loaded with LED lights, a semi-digital instrument console, Bluetooth phone connectivity, SMS/call alerts, a gear position indicator, an average fuel economy indicator, and more. Hardware includes telescopic front suspension, a monoshock rear suspension, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, etc.

The primary rival of the Speed T4 is the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.

Our verdict on the Triumph Speed T4

Recently, Triumph India was offering a discount of Rs 18,000 on the Speed T4. However, the launch of the new colour options at a reduced price tag has now permanently brought down the sticker price of the Speed T4. It is now a more affordable bike than ever before; offering premium quality and quick performance.
