Triumph reveals all-new Speed Triple 1050

Triumph has taken the wraps off the all-new Speed Triple motorcycle. The new Speed Triple 1050 as per the brand is the most powerful, agile & responsive compared to previous generations. Triumph will launch two variants of this motorcycle – Speed Triple S & Speed Triple RS.

Powering the new Speed Triple is still a motor with the similar 1,050cc capacity. However, the engine has over 105 new parts compared to the older model. This liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder motor producing 150 PS of power @ 10,500 RPM & 117 Nm of torque @ 7150 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The bike gets a new stainless steel 3-1-2 exhaust with new silencers. On the RS variant, you get exhaust end cans from Arrow.

In terms of tech features, the new Speed Triple 1050 comes with a 5″ TFT display, new switchcubes to toggle the settings which are now backlit, cruise control, 5 riding modes, throttle settings, daytime running lights, USB charging, cornering ABS, traction control, and more. The RS variant gets additional equipment such as new keyless steering lock & ignition.

Both the S & the RS variants of the new Speed Triple have a single-sided swingarm on the same aluminium beam twin-spar chassis. The S variant gets 43mm fully adjustable Showa USD forks & Showa monoshock. On the RS variant, you get a Ohlins NIX30 USD fork & Ohlins TTX36 rear monoshock. Braking on both the bikes is from the same setup – Brembo M4.34 radial monoblocks.

The RS thanks to the lighter equipment weighs 189 kg while the Speed Triple S weighs 192 kg.
