Triumph Motorcycles has officially launched the new Tiger 1200 range in India, starting at INR 19,38,990 (ex-showroom Delhi, NCT). The updated models feature several enhancements aimed at improving performance, comfort, and overall riding experience.
Key Updates and Features
The Tiger 1200 range gets the updated T-Plane triple engine, which now offers increased crank inertia for improved refinement and low-speed control. The 1160cc triple engine continues to deliver the exciting triple character, now with superior low-speed control and smoother low rev torque delivery. The engine updates include changes to the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer, leading to a more refined riding experience. It produces 150 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Enhanced Comfort and Ergonomics
The new models feature dampened handlebars and risers, previously popular in the Explorer models, now available in the GT Pro and Rally Pro variants. The rider seat has been redesigned with a flatter profile for increased comfort on long rides. The seat height can be further reduced with the accessory low seat and the new Active Preload Reduction feature, which lowers the seat height by up to 20mm.
Improved Ground Clearance
Triumph has increased the cornering ground clearance on the GT Pro and GT Explorer models by lifting the footpeg positions and moving them closer to the bike. This enhancement is expected to provide greater confidence and control, especially during cornering.
New Colors and Variants
The Tiger 1200 range is available in four variants: GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Explorer. The GT models are tailored for road-focused adventure rides, while the Rally models are designed for all-terrain adventures. The GT Pro and GT Explorer now come in Carnival Red, Snowdonia White, and Sapphire Black. The Rally Pro and Rally Explorer are available in Matt Sandstorm, Jet Black, and Matt Khaki.
