Triumph launches Daytona 660 in India at INR 9.72 Lakh

Triumph Motorcycles has launched the new Daytona 660 in the Indian market at the price of INR 9.72 lakh ex-showroom. The middleweight sports bike comes with Triumph’s Triple engine along with intuitive and sporty handling as well as all-day riding comforts, reveals Triumph. The Triumph Daytona 660 also claims the highest quality, capability and specification in its class.

Powertrain

Powering the Triumph Daytona 660 is a 660cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine that gets the 240-degree firing order offering high-rpm power and low end torque. The Triple engine produces 95 PS of power @ 11,250 rpm and has a high redline of 12,650 rpm. The company also reveals that 80% of the torque out of the total 69 Nm is achieved at just 3,125 rpm. Also, the engine comes with a 3 into 1 under slung exhaust offering a unique soundtrack. The engine is matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a torque assist clutch and Triumph’s Shift Assist technology available as an accessory fitment.

Mechanicals

In the parts bin, the Triumph Daytona 660 gets a 41mm Showa upside down Big Piston front fork and a Showa rear suspension unit with preload adjustments. The bike also comes with 5-spoke alloy wheels with low rotating mass enhancing the handling and suspension performance. The Daytona 660 also comes with Michelin Power 6 tyres boosting cornering confidence. Stopping power comes from lightweight 310mm twin discs on the front with four piston calipers on the front paired to a Continental ABS module.

Electronics

The Triumph Daytona 660 features ride-by-wire throttle with 3 riding modes – Sport, Road and Rain that control the traction control intervention and throttle response. The traction control system on the Daytona 660 can also be turned completely off using the multi functional instruments cluster. The colour TFT screen with a white-on-black LCD display also comes with turn-by-turn navigation plus phone and music interaction as an accessory.

Ergonomics & Accessories

The Triumph Daytona 660 also comes with clip on handlebars on top of the yoke and rear set foot pegs that not only claim to be comfortable but also offer cornering clearance of a dynamic sports bike. The motorcycle also comes with a split rider and pillion seat with a saddle height of 810 mm for the rider which is quite manageable for riders of all sizes. In addition to this, the brand also offers a lower 785mm seat height option available as an accessory. In addition to this, Triumph Motorcycles also offers 30 Genuine Triumph accessories for the Daytona 660.
